This article is for students using VB Courseware and who are interested in learning where to find key content in the Courseware dashboard. This will show you how to access your account profile, where to see and begin work on assignments, how to check your grades, read instructor announcements, and how to access VB support articles and the support team.
This article has two sections:
- The dashboard as it appears to students accessing Courseware directly
- A sample of how the Courseware dashboard appears when using the software within your school’s LMS (a learning management system such as Canvas, Blackboard, D2L, etc..)
Courseware Dashboard (Direct access)
When schools use Courseware directly (not through an LMS), students sign in at courseware.visiblebody.com and see a dashboard that looks like this:
From this student dashboard, you can access key content and features of Courseware as noted in the image. You will find:
1. Your profile information. See/edit the email used to access your Courseware account and see information about the length of your access.
2. Get help and instructions. This question mark links to the VB support site where you can find articles and tutorial videos that go into detail about using Courseware features.
3. The name of the course in which you are enrolled.
4. Folders with assignments and assessments from your instructor.
5. This left-hand menu includes announcements from instructors, a calendar with due dates, access to your score on assessments in the Grade book, and access to any course resources that instructors upload are available.
6. Supplemental reference content. For the length of your Courseware access, you also get access to the web and mobile versions of VB Suite, our bestselling visual database filled with 3D models, animations, Flashcards, 3D presentations, and more. Launch the web version of VB Suite, or download the mobile version to your iOS or Android device.
Courseware Dashboard (Access through LMS)
When schools use Courseware through an LMS (such as Blackboard, Canvas, Schoology, D2L, etc.), the Courseware features appear in different ways but are easy to find. These sample integration views are a helpful guide to finding the Courseware features you are looking to use:
1. The name of the course in which you are enrolled.
This will appear in your LMS, usually along the top of the screen.
2. Courseware assignments and assessments.
The Courseware work assigned by your instructor will appear with your other course assignments. Look for folders with assignments in them, or assignments that appear as single items.
3. Your profile information.
Since your school has an LMS integration, you do not need to your profile information to sign in to Courseware separately. When you select a Courseware assignment from within your LMS, Courseware uses the same login email/password that you use to access your LMS.
The only time you might want your profile information is if you are downloading VB Suite, the mobile reference app you can download as part of your Courseware access. You have the same profile information in Courseware as you do in your LMS. Use your LMS email and password to unlock access to VB Suite. If that does not work, use the VB Suite "forgot password" feature. For your email, use the email you use to access your LMS.
4. Get help and instructions.
Save this Student Courseware Support Site and use it to browse for answers to questions about the software and to contact support.
5. Announcements, grades, calendar.
Since your school has an LMS integration, you'll use the LMS's features to get announcements, check grades, and access course calendar information.
6. Supplemental reference content.
The Courseware My Apps page gives you access to many self-study and reference features. To access that page, find the main link to the Courseware product from within your LMS. From there, select My Apps.
For the length of your Courseware access, you also get access to the web and mobile versions of VB Suite—our bestselling visual database filled with 3D models, animations, Flashcards, 3D presentations, and more. On the My Apps page, you can launch the web version of VB Suite, or download the mobile version to your iOS or Android device.
