Visible Body's mission is to make health and life science education accessible to all types of learners. The VB Courseware software teams have been releasing ongoing updates that add keyboard and screen reader accessibility for students.
This article describes these features/options and where to find them in the software.
Accessibility Features
Our apps are designed with readability in mind. We don’t use flashing lights or images in our products. Time-sensitive elements only appear within professor-designated tests, but these can all be catered to a learner’s needs. We also support most forms of assistance for limited- or low-vision users compatible with supported browsers.
The following Courseware features are screen-reader and keyboard accessible:
- Student account access, dashboard, and assignments page
- Lab activities in Word format
Here is an overview of all the VPAT items Courseware supports or supports with a few exceptions:
- Non-text Content
- Captions (Prerecorded)
- Audio Description or Media Alternative
- Meaningful Sequence
- Sensory Characteristics
- Use of Color
- Audio Control
- Keyboard
- No Keyboard Trap
