Here are the controls for Human Anatomy Atlas 2023+. This includes using your mouse and keyboard or touch controls for touchscreens.
Basic Mouse and Keyboard Controls
Interacting with the model is easy. Let's go over the basic navigation.
Left click on the model to rotate.
Hold down the spacebar and drag the mouse to pan or drag the model across the screen.
Scroll up and down on the mouse to zoom in and out
Double-click on the model to automatically zoom into and center the object on screen
Advanced Mouse and Keyboard Controls
The following controls can be used with either a mouse or trackpad and a QWERTY keyboard.
To rotate/turn the model
- Around the X axis
- Hold down the X key and click and drag with the mouse or trackpad
- Use the up and down arrow keys
- Around the Y axis
- Hold down the Y key and click and drag with the mouse or trackpad
- Use Q to rotate clockwise and E to rotate counterclockwise
- Use the right and left arrow keys
- You can also double-click on a structure to set the focus of rotation
To move the model
- Hold down the spacebar on your keyboard and use your mouse or trackpad to click the model and drag it around the screen
- Use the W, A, S, D keys
To zoom in and out
- Scroll up and down on your mouse or trackpad
- Use the plus and minus keys on your keyboard
To select, fade, and remove structures
- Use your mouse or trackpad to click on a structure. The blue color indicates that it is selected.
- Use the show/fade/hide buttons on screen to see through a selected structure, remove it from view, or show it again
- Use these keys on your keyboard:
- H to hide/show the selected structure
- V to fade/unfade the selected structure
- O to hide everything except the selected structure
Touch Controls
Most touch screen devices are compatible with the touch controls in Human Anatomy Atlas. A stylus can be used as the equivalent of a single finger touch.
Interacting with the model is easy. Let's go over the basic navigation.
Use one finger to rotate or tumble the model.
Use two or three fingers to pan or drag the model, across the screen.
Spread your fingers apart to zoom in.
Pinch your fingers together to zoom out.
While rotating, you might find that the model is not staying centered in your view.
Double tapping a structure will zoom into and center rotation for that object, making it much easier to navigate around it.
